The waffles were evenly browned but found the recipe with the waffler were a bit bland. I need to find a better waffle recipe with a richer flavored batter.

These pans actually started my calphalon collection. Now I have whole set from amazon and others. I have had these pans for over a year and use them almost everyday. I used to burn alot of things, but with the even heat distribution of these, hasnt happened yet.(knock on wood) Girlfriend liked these alot, so got her a set as well, says the same thing. With the lifetime warranty, how can you beat them?

These pans have been great so far (1 month of use)–no sticking and great food!

I’ve been diligent about only cooking over medium or low heat. And it’s true that if you let your food develop a slight crust on the bottom then you don’t need to use extra oil/butter. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a higher quality pan.

I’m afraid I wasn’t able to judge the annoying alarm for myself, as the delivered unit had a cracked and crumbling case (the bottom is plastic), which was obviously done at the factory as the box and even the styrofoam was intact. The replacement unit just arrived, and has a broken temperature knob, again with no outside damage. So I’m sitting this one out and looking for another brand. Quality control counts, especially for an electrical product you’ll expect to use for decades. Sorry Villaware, but I just can’t trust it.

Save yourself time and money and do not buy this. I took it out of its box and the first thing I noticed is the ‘funny’ smell of plastic,etc that seems to be in everything made in China that’s rubber,plastic, etc. The metal lid is scratched and roughly made. I’m not going to use it. I’ve already processed this for return through Amazon and am going to purchase the US made waffle maker though it’s about $100 more. That’s my ‘2 cents’. Thank you

I bought this waffle maker for our grandsons (ages 7 and 4) for Christmas. The boys were excited when they opened this gift, and were delighted when they saw the cute shapes that could be made. It certainly made breakfast-time fun!

I recommend this product as a great way to get kids to eat breakfast!

Remember to spray the baking surface, and clean up is easy. Rating: 5 / 5

Super non-stick, clean well, heat evenly.

Finally have pans that match with lids.

The sides are high so it makes stirring easier

A previous reviewer commented: If you have a ceramic stove top, be warned that these pots warp when they are hot, so they do not sit flat and they do not heat evenly or well.

I agree wholeheartedly- these pans are rather thin and have poor heat distribution, especially on a ceramic stove top.

On the positive side, they are OK. They might be suitable as a starter set- attractive- have a good non-stick surface (so far).

OTH- keep in mind that even with the Calphalon branding, they are cheaply made and will likely warp with high heat.

I was a little disappointed. You do get what you pay for....

The Amazon site (as of 12/22/07 ) still has this item as “in stock” even though when I ordered it, the vendor (TodaysConcept) actually was waiting for the shipment from the manufacturer and never got it before Christmas. Don’t know why this would be … (lying???)

Having said that though, I ordered this well before Christmas, and got an email message 1 day before it should have shipped (12/12) as a gift, notifying me that it was suddenly out of stock (hey that happens right?)..well, they gave me a phone number and email to respond to… I figured I’d try the phone — no luck, their voice mail box was full and I couldn’t get a hold of anyone nor leave a message. I then tried an email — waited 2 days — and still no response. At this point, since this is supposed to be a gift and I’m stressing a bit, I call Amazon. They give me what I will term as the “run-around” — they don’t directly sell the item, I have to send the seller an email. I’d already done that but the Amazon rep was not very helpful — they could not (would not?) cancel my order and instead sent yet another email — this time in my stead. Again no response. Meanwhile I’m wondering about what to do as Christmas races up and I have no time to get another gift ordered — esp if this one suddening comes in and I’m charged for it! I will take some blame for this — as I should’ve pre-planned longer in advance to buy a gift. Laziness strikes again. In any case, I was not satified with either Amazon’s response (lack of support) nor in TodaysConcept total lack of response. This “3rd party” thing is now more suspect than ever in my mind, and I’m wondering if I’ll ever risk it again unless Amazon steps up and takes control of the order throughout the process.

The end result — if anyone is still interested — is that the order was finally canceled 2 business days before Christmas, leaving me no time to really get the gift delivered on time for Christmas from another vendor. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere — not Amazon nor any of their vendors — and I called with apologies to my sister for missing the holiday for one of her family’s gifts.

At this point, I guess this could be chalked up to Christmas madness; perhaps this vendor just couldn’t handle the load. Based on other reviews I’ve seen on them, they seemed fine. Take this review in context of that and you’ll probably be okay with them. Good luck though.

BTW, here’s their number 1-877-335-6644 — try it to see if you can get a human support person before you order. That’s just my suggestion though .
